As I'm sure you've heard by now (or maybe not?) Digital Candy has decided to close it's doors tomorrow. Today and tomorrow, as long as the store stays open, all of my items will be marked down 50%. I'm making a move at the end of the month, and many of my items will be retiring....and will be making room for new ones :) If you see something you like, pick it up now before it's gone! :) Thanks for your support, guys!

Miracles Happen.....
First, I would like to take a few minutes to tell you about a friend of mine. His name is Chris Abeyta....
Chris was a vibrant, happy, funny guy who warmed the hearts of anyone who knew him. Always smiling, laughing and cracking jokes.
Sadly, he was killed almost two weeks ago while on duty in Afghanistan with the National Guard.

Sadly, he was killed almost two weeks ago while on duty in Afghanistan with the National Guard.
Yesterday, hundreds of people lined the streets of my hometown, Midlothian, IL to welcome this fallen soldier home.
As you can see, Chris was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Sgt. Chris Abeyta never had the chance to marry or have children, but one of his fellow guardsmen did. Spc. Norman Cain III, 22 was another man killed that day. Cain leaves behind a wife and two children....
The family of Sgt. Chris Abeyta has begun to organize a memorial fund for Cain, in hopes that it may some day help his children through college.
Feel free to contact me for more info on this amazing memorial fund :)
Please think of these men in the following days as their friends and families welcome them home and pay their last respects.
On another note, the ladies at Digital Candy and myself have put together April's collaboration kit, Miracles Happen. All of the proceeds from this kit will go to to the March of Dimes and aid in Digital Candy's fund raising for the Walk America event in May.
At $4.80, not only can you scrap tons of pages of your own memories, but you can help others in the process :)

Sneaky Peeky... :D
I'm so excited to announce my first time working with the ladies at Digital Candy on the April store collaboration :) What is so special about this collab is that all of the proceeds will go to March of Dimes! :) Here is a little sneak peek- and I've been told that the kit will be released on Friday :D

FREEBIE CU Overlays & Some NEW Stuff!
I'm getting really bad at this blogging thing, huh? Eek! It's with good reason, I promise!
Each overlay pack includes (8) 12x12in overlays, all okay for commercial use.
Out of all three overlay packs so far, #3 may just be my favorite :) I had tons of fun walking around my house and yard photographing all of these unique textures. Double or triple them up for different looks...I found that the hard light blending mode worked best for the look I wanted to achieve :)
I've been suuuuper busy the past week, creating banners and blinkies for my fellow designers at Scrapable, setting up my stores at both Digital Candy and Enchanted Studio Scraps (yes, I know! :) ) and gearing up for a complete site make-over at Digital Paper Hearts! (Feel free to check out the banners and blinkies I've been working on by clicking the linked buttons at the top of the page...)
Alas, I have managed to squeeze some time in to create some more commercial use overlays- packs 2 and 3.... At the end of this post, you will find the download link for this freebie sampler that is not included in any of my CU overlay packs for sale, and is available exclusively on my blog!

If you have forgotten about (or haven't seen) overlay pack #1, here is a little refresher :)
What makes the first pack different than the second and third, is that these are all 'indoor' overlays (fabrics, etc) as opposed to the woods, concrete and chipped paints of the second and third packs.
All three overlay packs are available at all of my stores, clickable blinkies can be found on the top left of the page :)
